Coast to Coast 17 Days / 16 Nights
Bangkok-Cambodia-Koh Chang-Bangkok

This Coast to Coast tour begins in Bangkok, where all the classic attractions and more will be visited. From here you will move on to Chacherngsao a lesser known historical town outside of Bangkok offering a window back in time and insights in authentic Thai living.

Transfer to the border town of Pailin, the one time "wild west" frontier town and a Khmer Rouge stronghold that remained under their control until as late as 1996. Head to Cambodia's second biggest city Battambang where you will set about discovering the colonial architecture and surrounding scenery. Battambang's countryside is what makes this pleasant river town a real treat.

The town is situated along the Sangker River, a quiet and small body of water that finds its way through Battambang Province. It connects the Cardamom Mountains with Tonle Sap Lake and feeds the paddy fields with water on the way, which results in Cambodia's best rice that can be found here, in Battambang Province. The province is also home to the Phnom Sampeau, home to the notorious killing caves.

Leave Battambang for Siem Reap, home to fabled temples of Angkor a 'must' on any itinerary of Cambodia. Construction of these remarkable temples is thought to have taken around thirty years of intensive labor. Today, Angkor Wat is figured on Cambodia's national flag as the temple symbolizes the soul of the Khmer people. Discover rural Cambodia in Kampong Thom and visit craft making villages where you will learn about ancient methods of production.

Continue on to the country's capital, Phnom Penh where wide tree-lined boulevards and many colonial-era buildings, historical insights and colorful markets await. Leave the city for the pristine surroundings of Kirirom National Park where diverse wildlife and ecology can be appreciated on hikes and an ox cart ride.

Head onto the remote Koh Kong set on a stunning river setting - the perfect place for nature lovers. The last stretch of this Cambodia tour takes travelers to the Thai island of Koh Chang for some wind down time on the beach, the perfect end to this Southeast Asian adventure.
